Difficulty: Easy

This is a twist on the classic tuna fish sandwich. By replacing bread with the vibrant, flavorful vessel of a tomato, this dish is lower in calories and higher in vitamins and fiber! I also chose to add a kick with hot sauce. While the is optional of course, it brings this dish to the next level!
Ingredients:
1 large tomato
1 3 oz can of tuna
1/8 cup mayonnaise
1/8 cup hot sauce (I used Frank's RedHot original)
2 cups lettuce
Instructions:
Step 1: Using a small knife, carefully cut a circle (about 2 inches in diameter) around the stem of the tomato. This cut should reach about 2/3 of the way down the tomato, but not puncture the bottom.
Step 2:Using a spoon, gently scoop out the inside of the tomato, leaving about 1/2 inch thick walls.
Step 3: In a small bowl, combine the (drained) tuna, mayonnaise, and hot sauce.
Step 4: Scoop the tuna mixture into the tomato bowl. Serve on a bed of lettuce.
Step 5: Enjoy!
